Jerry R. Laster, 69, of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Oklahoma City. Jerry was born November 8, 1943 to Hugh, Jr. and Reba (Bateman) Laster in Borger, Texas. He was raised in Stinnett, Texas and attended Stinnett Public Schools and was a 1962 graduate of Stinnett High School. After graduation he attended Hardin Simmons on a football scholarship and later attended West Texas University in Amarillo, Texas. Jerry married Anna Lian on July 28, 1990 in McLoud, Oklahoma. Jerry worked for many years at the Pottawatomie County Sherriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff until his retirement. He also worked as a high pressure welder. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stinnett, Texas and attended Sharon Baptist Church. He was a member of the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge 69 and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in McAlester. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on the farm with his horses and cows. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Troy Laster; and brother, Johnny Laster. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna Laster, of the home; daughter, Danna Blasingame-Lewis and husband Raymond, of East Stroudsburg, PA; son, Tracy Laster, of Stinnett, Texas; grandchildren, Kelsey, Rian and Cambry Laster, of Stinnett, Texas and C.J. Lewis and Heather Lewis, of East Stroudsburg, PA; two sisters, Louise Franks, of Amarillo, Texas and Velena Rodriquez, of Washington, OK; step-father Raymond Kelly and wife, Patsy, of Shawnee; step-sisters, Ruby Redfield and husband Farley, of Tecumseh and Cindy Kelly of Tecumseh; step-brother, Jimmy Kelly, of Tecumseh; former spouse and mother of his children, Gail Davis; and numerous extended family and friends.
