Age: 68 Residence: Moody, McLennan, Texas Place of Death: at his home in Moody Thomas was born Sept. 29, 1942 in Moody to Yarborough "Dick" and Viola Redden Dowell. He attended Moody High School and farmed in the Moody area. He married Deborah Ethridge on July 17, 1970 in Moody Texas with Justice of the Peace J.B. Vandiver officiating. Thomas then went to work for McLennan County Road and Bridge Department operating heavy equipment. He retired after 25 years of service and went into business for himself operating Dowell's Dozer Service. He was a former member of the Moody Volunteer Fire Department. Thomas also coached little league baseball for several years in Moody. He has been a long standing member of the Moody Masonic Lodge #568. He attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church as a child and was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Moody. He was preceded in death by his father Yarborough "Dick" Dowell and an infant sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Deborah Dowell; sons Landy, Shayne and wife Priscilla, and Chad and wife Jennifer Dowell; grandchildren Clayton, Lasly, Tyler, Sean, Abigail and granddaughter Hailey, expected soon. Thomas is also survived by his mother; Viola Dowell and brothers; Jr. and wife Fran, Emmett and wife Jane, and Bill Dowell. Waco Tribune-Herald: 7/28/2011
