Bio

According to his death certificate Allen was born in Texas, but according to his obituary he was born in Alabama. He joined the Pleasant Mound Methodist Church when he was 14. For a number of years, he was a cotton buyer and manager of a Wilmer cotton gin owned by the Dallas Oil & Refining Company. Later he handled oil leases and established his own road-building firm, the Holifield Construction Company. He retired in 1932. He lived at 804 North Beckley the last thirty-five years of his life. He was a Mason and a member of the Odd Fellows. His obituary described him as "quiet and heavy-set."
