Bio

Born in Washington, Jackson, Ohio; m. 1st, 6 May 1882, in Ringgold Co., IA to "Lettie" Drake (aka: Susan E., Letta, Lidda, Ledda, etc.), daughter of Joseph R. Drake and Julia Eveline Dehart. With Lettie, he is said to have had son Murphy Sullivan, b. abt 1884 and probably died at birth or soon after. Lettie and Douglas divorced before 1889 and both remarried. Douglas m. 2nd, 6 May 1889 to Emma Rhoda Wetzell in Adams Co., IL and with her had son Glenn (or Glen) Worth Sullivan (m. Ellenora [or Ellenore] V. Thompson) and daughter Ruby Lavere (m. Harold Edward Murphy). The burial place for son Murphy is not yet known; however Thompson Cemetery in Ringgold Co., IA with early Sullivan family or Mount Zion Cemetery in Ringgold Co., IA with Lettie's parents are likely places. Both cemeteries are very old and deteriorated, with many stones missing. Lettie apparently married at least three more times, 2nd to ___ Newell, 3rd to Frank C. Heitmeier, and 4th to Otto A. Raushenbach. She was in Corning, Nemaha, KS in the 1930 census and is believed to have died a widow in Kansas City, MO or KS on 9 Oct 1942.
