Leland Fecht, 79, of Berwyn died Friday, July 15, 2011, at his home near Berwyn. Leland was born on Feb. 22, 1932, at Willow Island, to Rudolph G. and Maggie (Shaffer) Fecht. Leland is survived by: wife, Retha Fecht of Ansley; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Mary Ann Fecht of Dannebrog and Roger and Lisa Fecht of Ansley; daughter, Lois Peisiger of Alda; daughter-in-law, Arvilla Fecht of Arcadia; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat Hird of Kearney, Linda and Rob Mitchell of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Clara Case of Cozad and Martha Downs of Missouri; and two brothers, Gary Fecht of Axtell and Steve Fecht of Columbus. Leland was preceded in death by his parents; sons, David and Dwaine Fecht; brothers, Richard, Harold, Clayton and Kenny Fecht; sisters, Mary, Rosemarie and Shirley; and son-in-law, John Peisiger. Burial was in the Janesville Cemetery, Custer County, NE. with military honors. Published in The Grand Island Independent on July 18, 2011
