In memoriam of Bill Morris, 11/27/1936 - 07/07/2011 Bill Morris, age 74 of the Capitol Hill community, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 7, 2011 at his home after a very courageous battle with cancer. A native of Huntland, he was the owner and operator of Morris Ferry Park and the former owner and operator of the Morris Grocery. In addition, he was a founding and charter member of the Capitol Hill Volunteer Fire Department and the Capitol Hill Community Center. He was a cattle farmer and an avid fisherman. Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Jean Morris, a daughter, Debbie Roberson, father, James Alex Morris and a half-brother, Dennis Morris. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Morris of Estill Springs and Cheryl Morris of Capitol Hill; sons, Bill "Spud" Morris, Jr. of Greensboro, NC , Gary (Eileen) Morris of Elk Grove, CA; mother, Nellie Morris of Madison, AL; sisters, Amy Cox of Spring Hill, TN, Leona Hobbs of Spokane, WA, Barbara (Marvin) Stubblefield of Elkmont, AL, Fannie (Charles) Bolden of Capitol Hill, Linda (Mickey) Littles of Madison, AL, Glenda Morris of Huntsville, AL, and Geneva (Johnny) Robinson of Dutton, AL; brothers, A.J. (Belle) Morris of Winchester, Buford Morris of Winchester, Kenneth (Joanne) Morris of Scottsboro, AL, James Morris of Decherd, Norman (Marie) Morris of Winchester, Buck (Tammie) Morris of Winchester, Truman (Nelle) Morris of Beaumont, CA; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 13 with Pastor Chris seals and Bro. Ray Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Keith Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Morris, Jr., Gary Morris, Matt Morris, Jordan Morris, Clint Morris, Carl Morris, Rodney Hill and Kevin Hill. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-9 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Multi County Cancer Support Network, 110 E.
