He was the 4th son of Reinhold Domel and Annie Severin Domel. He was a WWII and Korea veteran. From the Herald Coaster Obituaries 18 Dec 1960. Funeral services for Charles Herbert Domel, 40, of Seabrook, were held from the Needville Methodist Church at 2:00 Friday, with Rev. Nolan R. Vance officiating. Mr. Domel passed away in Lake Charles, LA after a short illness. He was a native of Needville, and attend schools in Needville and Guy. He entered the armed forces in 1939and served in the european Theater of Operations with the Second Division, 9th Infantry during World War II, where he earned the ETO Medal, Purple Heart with cluster, and Bronze Star. He retired after 20 years service on July 31, 1960 and at the time of his death was employed by Offshore Explorations Co. Included among his survivors ar his two sons, Ronald Douglas domel and Charles Herbert Domel, Jr., both of Rancho Cordova, CA; mother, Mrs. Ben Selig of Guy; step-father, Ben Selig of Guy; brptjers. Edwin Domel of Brazoria; Willie Domel of Guy; Edgar Selig ofguy and Lester Selig of Guy. Internment was in Needville Public Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Garmany and Company Funeral Directors of Needville.
