Funeral services for Mamie D. Odom will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jerry Odom and Donald Dickens officiating. Committal services will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mamie, 91, of Plainview, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 15, 2015 in her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born December 5, 1923 in Elizabeth, to the union of William Mitchell Dial and Ginevria (Paul) Dial. She was a Baptist by Faith, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Odom; six brothers, and four sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving family, three sons, Leeman Odom of Buffalo, New York, Shorty Odom of Plainview, and Charles Roy Odom of Oakdale; two daughters, Voila Dickens of Oakdale and JoAnne Byrd of Lake Charles; 18 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Don Dickens, Roy Byrd, Scotty Odom, Robert Odom, Jim Odom, and Renee LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Michael Odom, Devin McDaniel, and John Westley Willis. Visitation will begin today, January 16, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., then on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. until service time in the chapel.
