Pearl Simeon Hughes At the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hughes, Pearl Simeon Hughes passed away Thursday October 19th. He had suffered for three years from that dread scourge, tuberculosis of the lungs. Pearl was a dutiful son, a kind brother and leaves many friends to mourn his loss; his loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hughes of Barron;five sisters and one brother, Mrs. J.R. Brown of East Arland; Mrs. A.E. Bagley of this city; Hattie, Bessie, Bennie and Gussie who are at home. Pearl was born in Barron county, October 5, 1886. He was 25 years, 2 weeks of age. The floral offerings were many and showed the regard with which he was held by his many friends. The funeral was held from the home, Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev. Kershaw officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Barron cemetery. [Published October 27, 1911 in the Barron County Shield, Barron, Wisconsin. ] "There'll be joy in the happy by and by, We will meet in that city, you and I, Just beyond the gates of gold, In a home of wealth untold, There'll be joy in the happy by and by. Not a fear, not a sorrow, not a sigh, Shall we know in the happy by and by, We will meet the friends we love, In the blessed home above; There'll be joy in the happy by and by."
