Son of James Albert & Leona (Minty) Hughes. First wife, Elaine (Hamill) Hughes Weldon Lee Hughes, 80, of McKinney died March 23, 2010, in Farmersville. A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Princeton with Danny Gurley officiating. Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville is in charge of arrangements. Born Aug. 29, 1929, in Verona, he was the son of James Albert and Leona Minty Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a U.S. Army Reserve technician. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Emma Hughes of McKinney; two sons, Jackie Hughes and Dennis Hughes, both of Farmersville; sister Patsy Brown of Greenville; a brother, Bill Hughes of Lockhart; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Hamill Hughes.
