Services for Ethel Tibbels, 96, Oakland, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. She died Sunday, June2, 2002 at the West Point Living Center. The daughter of Louis and Mary (Galligan) Winkler was born June 26, 1905, at Lindsay. She graduated from Lindsay Holy Family High School in 1923. She graduated from Creighton-St. Joseph School of Nursing in Omaha in 1926 as a registered nurse. She worked at a hospital in Wisconsin and St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha as a surgical nurse. She married Randolph H. Tibbels on Feb. 25, 1933, at the rectory of the Omaha Cathedral. The couple moved to Oakland after Dr. Tibbels completed his internship. Survivors include three sons, Dr. Thomas and his wife, Jacqueline of West Point, Michael and his wife Kay of Norfolk, and Dr. Terrence and his wife E. Mary Jean of Carlsbad, Calif., one daughter Nancy and her husband Gordon Englert of Billings, Mont.; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lugene Broberg of Fort Dodge, Kans.
