Bio

BLAIRSTOWN - Archie Kimm, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Belle Plaine Crest nursing home, Belle Plaine, following a long illness. Archie Kimm was born on March 4, 1883, the son of Justus and Emma Kimm in Blairstown. On Nov. 23, 1906, he was united in marriage to Anna Cluett. In the spring of 1907, the couple moved to Huron, S.D., where they made their home for 20 years. In 1927, they moved back to Blairstown for 11 years until they moved to a farm, northeast of Norway. He worked as a carpenter during his lifetime and was a member of the Norway Methodist Church. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Kent and Leo, Cedar Rapids, and Keith, Norway, and one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Viola) Bennett, Blairstown. Also surviving are two brothers, Matt, Cedar Rapids, and John, Huron, S.D., and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Merrifield, California, Mrs. Alice Blomme and Mrs. Maggie Johnson, Huron, S.D., and Mrs. Abbie Wodstrchill, Watkins. Funeral services were held at Peffers funeral home, Blairstown, Thursday, Jan.24, at 1:30 p.m. Rev T. D. Dewey, Norway, officiated.
