Bio
Funeral Services Held Thursday For Mrs. C. L. Starkey Funeral services for Mrs. C. L. Starkey of West Mountain were held at 4 p.m. last Thursday at Gilmer Church of Christ. Conducting the service were Bob Hunt and Owen Miller. Burial was at West Mountain Cemetery. Croley Funeral Home directed arrangements. Pallbearers were Clinton Clark, Lynn Bowdne, Guy Patterson, Loyd Towery, Carl Sorrell, and F. L. Lovell. Mrs. Starkey, a native and lifetime resident of West Mountain, died at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 28 in Gilmer of a heart ailment. She had been ill about 75 days. At her death she was 64 years, 10 months and 13 days old. She married in 1909 at Bettie and Mr. Starkey survives her. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since her youth. Also are four daughters, Mrs. Babe Owen of Gilmer, Mrs. Jack McNutt of Pittsburg, Mrs. Edward Oyervides of Austin and Mrs. T. E. Johnson of Greggton; one son, T. R. Starkey of Lone Star, three brothers, R. L. White, of West Mountain, Irvin White and Wiley White, both of Gladewater; and a sister, Mrs. L. L. Rogers of Rush Springs, Okla.; and 11 grandchildren.
