Abilene Reporter-News Abilene, Texas · Friday, March 06, 1981 COLORADO CITY - Elmer Bearden, 69, of Rising Star, a former resident of Colorado City, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Lubbock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at KikerSeale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery. Born Feb. 14, 1912, in Smith County, he worked as an auto mechanic. He married Willie Mae Bradley Jan. 15, 1966, in Colorado City, and moved to Rising Star four and a half years ago from Colorado City. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland. Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Dana Munsey of Alamogordo, N.M., Jan Drake and Marty Gattlin, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Ann Smith and Kay Cliburn, both of Colorado City, Lisa Bearden and Laura Bearden, both of Rising Star; two sons, Danny of Alamogordo and Elmer of Kansas City, Mo.; three stepsons, Melvin, Lloyd, and Charlie Lunceford, all of Rising; Star; a sister, Bea Sears of Midland; two brothers, Claude and Melvin, both of Colorado City; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
