Bio

Funeral services were held Monday at Kiker & Son Chapel for James E. Bearden, 37, one of five men killed in an auto accident Feb 7 near Killeen. Two brothers, Claude Bearden and Melvin Bearden live in Colorado City. Offocating at the services was W. E. Burkman, minister of the 5th & Elm St. Church of Christ. Burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery under direction of Kiker & Son Funeral Home. Bearden was born in Colorado City, April 8, 1921. He married Faye Davie in San Antonio in 1944. They had been living in Somerville for the past two years where Mr. Bearden was employed by a construction company. Bearden is survived by his wife: two daughters Barbara Jean and Linda Carol, two sons, Billy Ray and Jerry Mac, all of Somerville: his mother, Mrs. Sallie Bearden of Sand Springs; three brothers, Claude and Melvin of Colorado City, Elmer Bearden of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Mrs. Tom Sears of Sand Springs; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ida Mae Robinson of Alvarado, Mrs. Noma Franklin of Midland and Mrs Lera McKenzie of Dallas, three half-brothers, Walter, Orus and Thomas Bearden.
