Occupation: Farmer MO d/c 45778—Birth year was reported as 1866, stone has 1867. GEORGE CUPP DEAD AT PLEVNA Suffered Stroke Saturday — Farmed Southwest of Edina Many Years. Geo. V. Cupp, nearly lifelong resident of Knox County, died at his home in Plevna at 7 o'clock Sunday evening following a cerrebral [sic] hemorrhage Saturday. He was 72 years old. Mr. Cupp was born in Preble County, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1866, but came with his parents to Knox County when only 3 years old, settling on the old home place southwest of Edina, now occupied by Beach Beal. He was there raised and schooled, and two years after his marriage to Miss Eva Welsh on March 4, 1896, moved to the Cupp farm 6 miles southwest of Edina, where they lived until two years ago, when they retired and moved to Plevna because of his having lost his eyesight. Mrs. Cupp survives him. The couple are the parents of three children, Mrs. C. R. Fulton of Hawthorne, Calif.; C. C. Cupp of Clayton, Calif., and Naomi, at home. Mr. Cupp was of a family of eight children, having five brothers and three sisters. Two of the brothers are dead. When a small boy Mr. Cupp united with the Presbyterian Church, and was taken into the Mt. Carmel Church during the pastorate of the Rev. C. S. Rennison. During his long career in the county, he was known as a substantial leading farmer. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock in the Community Church at Edina, Friday morning, with the Rev. J. P. Ingerslew in charge. Burial will be in the Linville cemetery. The children are here from California for the funeral. Mrs. B. Willeford of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., a sister of Mr. Cupp, came today funeral. She was accompanied by her son, Levi Willeford. Services were at 11 o'clock at the Community Church by the Rev. J. P. Ingerslew. Mr. Cupp who was 72 years old is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. C. R. Fulton of Hawthorne, Calif., Naomi at home, and C. C. Cupp of Clayton, Calif., all of whom were here for the funeral.
