Bio

Services for Elmer L. Vieregge, 79, of Lubbock will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Church of Christ with Virgil Yoakum, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home. Vieregge died Sunday, July 12, 1998, in Lubbock. He was born in Groesbeck. He married Novell Allison on June 28, 1947, in Lubbock. She died Sept. 17, 1987. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received the EAME Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars and a Bronze Arrowhead, a Silver Star and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a truck driver. Survivors include three sons, Terry and Danny, both of Lubbock, and Larry of Grapevine; a brother, David of Grand Prairie; and four grandchildren.
