ssw Cora V. Boriskie
Married Cora Victoria Brandes on July 30, 1901 in Brazos County, TX. From the Bryan (TX) Daily Eagle , Friday, February 15, 1957, p. 12: Tonight at 7:30 in the chapel of Hillier Funeral Home the Rosary will be recited for John A. Boriskie, 74, who died in John Sealy hospital, Galveston, at an early hour Thursday. The Rev. Tim Valenta will officiate and the same priest will conduct the funeral service in the chapel Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in the College Station cemetery with six nephews serving as pallbearers. A group of close friends have been named honorary pallbearers. Mr. Boriskie, born near College Station Sept. 12, 1882, was retired, but prior to his retirement was a groceryman and merchant in Bryan for 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and of SPJST lodge. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cora Boriskie of San Leon where she and her late husband had recently resided; three daughters, Mrs. Franklin Simon and Mrs. Walter D. Quick of Route 3, Caldwell, Mrs. P M. Tingley of Keemah; one sister, Mrs. J. B. Williams of Bryan, and two brothers, Joe and Victor J. Boriskie of College Station. Also surviving are two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
