Gladys Howser, 82, of 1550 Rocky Mound Road, Westmoreland, TN, died Sunday April 7, 2002 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. The Macon County, TN native was born January 16, 1920, a daughter of the late Eld. Herley Smith Linville and Lillian Daisy Carr Linville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Miller's Chapel General Baptist Church. On December 25, 1937 she was united in marriage to Odis Howser, who survives. Survivors besides her husband of over 64 years include daughter and son-in-law Wilma and Rev. Harold King, Rocky Mound Road, and son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Doyle Howser, Wixtown Community, three sisters, Virgie Burroughs, Gallatin, Macie Hickman, Joelton, TN, Rosie Sullivan, Rocky Mound Road; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Linville, and two sisters, Avie McWhirter and Mary Lou Flatt. Funeral services for Gladys Howser were conducted Wednesday, April 10, 2002, 1 p.m. at Alexander God Funeral Home in Lafayette with Rev. Raymond Adcock and Rev. Eugene Keen officiating. Burial was in Miller's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lewis McWhirter, Robert McWhirter, Melvin McWhirter, Ronnie Howser, Rev. Terry Howser, Brandon Owen and Kyle Owen. Alexander Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette in charge of arrangements.
