Bio

Doris Marie Tielke, 83, formerly of West Columbia passed away in Clute on December 21, 2017. She was born in Axtell, Texas on April 14, 1934 to Lewis & Letha Collier Fentress. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia at 1 pm, with a visitation from noon until service time. Burial will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1 pm at Concord Cemetery in Bellmead, Texas. Doris was a member of DAR and proudly involved with arranging the placement of the Stephen F. Austin statue. She worked for Tenneco for many years at Columbia Lakes and was a secretary for the City of West Columbia. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Glen Thornton & fiancé Cindy Wylie, Dennis Thornton, and Jason Goolsby & wife, Lisa; daughter, Letha Graham; sister, Anna Pearl Moore; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elgin Tielke; brother, William Fentress; sister, Mary Makovy. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Mary Cudd and her staff and to Creekside Village and staff.
