Bio

The husband of Mary Ellen Wilson Colbert. William was captured in July 1864 during the war and released after the war to his family. After he married Mary Ellen Wilson, they managed the Colbert Hotel in Gibsland, La., between 1866 and 1890. It was then passed to T.H. Brown and his wife. The hotel was renamed The Brown Hotel but it burned down in 1943.
