OBITUARY FROM THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE: Sister M. Conrad Sehon SISTER M. CONRAD SEHON, O.P., born October 8, 1912, in Westphalia, Texas, died December 1, 2002. Sister entered the Dominican Sisters of Houston, Texas on September 20, 1932, and made final profession of vows on August 15, 1939. Sister Conrad began a generous ministry in household and dietary services in 1932, and this ministry spanned five decades. She served the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston, Beaumont and Austin, as well as for Bishop W. J. Nold until her retirement from active ministry in 1980. During her retirement as St. Dominic Villa, Sister Conrad continued in ministry through the development of her artistic talents and through her faithful prayer. Sister Conrad is the daughter of the late Conrad and Rosa Tallafus Sehon. She is preceded in death by her brothers Raymond, Frank, and Conrad Sehon, by her sisters Julie Pinkert, Mary Glatter and Sister Antonia Sehon, O.P. She is survived by her sisters Ida Gottschalk and Della Pinkert of Levelland, TX, by her brother, John Sehon of Lott, TX, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Her body will be received at St. Dominic Villa Chapel, 6504 Almeda Road, on Tuesday, December 3, at 4 p.m. The Wake Service will be at St. Dominic Villa Chapel on Tuesday at 7 p.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, at 10 a.m., also at St. Dominic Villa Chapel. The Rite of Committal will be at Garden of Gethsemane, Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of the usual remembrances, donations may be sent to the Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund.
