Johnnie William Sehon, 87, of Lott, peacefully passed away at William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home surrounded by family on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. A church service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at Little Deer Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco. Johnnie was born in Lott, Texas, to the late Conrad and Rosa Sehon. He was a graduate of Lott High in 1944. Johnnie served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was honorably discharged in California. While in California, he worked as a postman, owned his own street sweeping business, and started a family, having three boys. After divorcing his first wife, Loretta, he remarried and moved back to Texas where he had three girls, and adopted three step-children. While in Texas, Johnnie supported his growing family by trading horses, and hauling gravel. He loved his family. After a divorce from his second wife, Janice, he helped raise two grandchildren. Johnnie spent his later years at the home place, spending time with his loving family, and is a member of Little Deer Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Loretta Sehon; brothers, Raymond, Conrad, and Frank; and sisters, Rosa, Mary, Ida, Margaret, Julie, and Adela. He is survived by his children, John P. Sehon, Tom S. Sehon, Michael W. Sehon, Sherie A. Byrd, Dan M. Sehon, Scott Z. Sehon, Jamie L. Lindeman, Katherine E. McCartney, Jenifer F. Rogers, Sammy L. Velasquez and Elizabeth K. Velasquez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Waco Tribune-Herald: 1/20/2013...K11
