Bio

OBITUARY; Orra DeEtte Chesebro was born April 27, 1862, second child of Jerod Hiram and Harriet Williams Chesebro. The oldest, Alvin, and the youngest, Ida, are both deceased. With the exception of Merton T. Hibbard of Herkimer, Orra was the last of the neighbors who lived in the vicinity of the Guideboard corner 50 or more years ago. On November 13, 1883, she married Arthur D. Page. To them were born two sons, Alvin E. and Floyd W. The latter died several years ago. They were members of the Methodist Church at Brookfield. Arthur Page died March 23, 1907. Since then she had lived in Brookfield until declining health caused her to go to Delhi and live with her son and his wife Eugena. On January 28 of this year she suffered a partial stroke and was removed to the sanitarium in Delhi, where she passed quietly away on February 9. Besides her son Alvin and wife, she leaves two granddaughters, a daughter-in-law, Aletha Page, of Brookfield, and a brother-in-law, Charlie of Lebanon. The funeral was at the Johnson Funeral home in Brookfield with burial later beside her husband in Brookfield Rural Cemetery. The Courier, Brookfield, NY, Thurs. Mar. 5, 1953, page 4
