"Harriet S. Williams, wife of J. Hiram Chesebro, passed away on Thursday last, Jan. 3, aged 72 years and 21 days. She had been in poor health for ten years past and since May last had been confined to her bed most of the time. Her disease was diagnosed as tubercular affection of the bowels. She was the daughter of the late Alerick Williams of this town and she had spent her entire life in the neighborhood where she died. A little more than fifty-five years ago she was married to J. Hiram Chesebro and to them three children were born: A. D. Chesebro, Mrs. Arthur Page and Mrs. Fred White. She is survived by these children, her husband, one half sister, Mrs. DeEtte Wilber, and a half brother, Hewitt Williams. Though having united with no church organization, she was in former years an attendant of the old Freewill Baptist church of that neighborhood. Her love of home, her worthy traits of character, her kindness as a neighbor, endeared her to all. The funeral services were held on Sunday at her late residence, conducted by Rev. C. A.
