Bio

Ida Amelia Hanneman was born on the same farm where she died except she was born in a sod shanty that her father had built on his homestead. She married William Arke on March 26, 1905. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wentworth, where she was confirmed in 1894. Ida had been ill for two weeks before she died. She gradually became paralyzed before her death. Her body laid in the Arke home until her funeral at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wentworh. A traditional German wake was held during that time. Ida and William had four sons, Martin, Vernon, Elwood, and Louis, and three daughters, Edna, Margaret, and Mildred.
