Thomas J. "Tom" Czaplewski, 68, of Lincoln, died Thursday (5-5-11). Born December 15, 1942 to Ben and Angeline (Mendyk) Czaplewski. Devoted husband, loving father, and a great friend to all. Married Sandy Garner, his high school sweet heart, in 1964. A Vietnam Air Force veteran, a member of St. Peter's parish, a past Boy Scout leader, a member of the American Legion and the American Legion Honor Guard Commander. Loved thunderstorms, the Huskers, the New York Yankees, quality time with family and friends, and grilling a fabulous steak. Survived by: wife, Sandy; sons, Mike(Susan), Shawn (Juliette), Dan (Linda); daughter, Tami (John); grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle), Aubrey, Heather, Destiny, Austin Czaplewski, John (Amber), Mollie (Ayers), Jamie (Cody) Chambers, Zoe, Abby (Gibson); great grandchildren, Allie, Aizlyn, Jaxson; brothers, Al, Tony (Vonnie); sister, Dorothy; sisters-in-law, Muritta, Betty, Arvada, Loreen; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by: parents; brothers, Louis, Dick, Bob, Jim Ron and Ben. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m., Monday, St. Peters Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr. Officiating: Rev. Father Michael Christiansen. Burial: Lincoln Memorial Park. Viewing: Sunday 9-9, with family Sunday 4-7; Rosary, Sunday 5 P.M., Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street.
