Richard Parker was a son of John Parker, Jr. and Maria Jackson Normington Parker. He married Betsy Ann Burke January 28, 1880 in the L.D.S. temple in Saint George, Washington County, Utah. The following obituary is compliments of findagrave member, Karen Shurtz. illard County Chronicle 1/23/1941 RICHARD PARKER Richard Parker died at the age of 82 from ailments incident to age at his home on Monday. He was born in Salt Lake County in 1859, and would have been eighty-two on Tuesday the 21st. He was a son of John and Marie Jackson Normington Parker. His father was called to settle at Virgin, Washington County, and was the first bishop in that town. Mr. Parker was prominent in civic affairs and took an active part in the LDS Church. He came to Millard County in 1900 with his wife, Betsy Burke Parker, settling in Abraham and in 1908 moved to Hinckley. Mrs. Parker preceded him in death dying about four years ago. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Higgs and Mrs. Ida Moffett, both of Glendale, Cal.; Mrs. Lovina Fullmer of Grace, Idaho; Mrs. Mabel Stockman of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Marie Keele and Mrs. Wealthy Hanson, both of Ogden and a son Ianthus Parker of Ruth, Nevada. Funeral services were held in the Hinckley ward chapel Wednesday, and interment was in the Hinckley cemetery. Sources of the data are personal records of W. Bruce Hilton, the L.D.S.
