Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy" White was born on March 3, 1867 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Frank White and his wife, Joanna Miller White. Lizzy married, late in life, age the age of 44, to James Crockett Mosby, a Civil War Veteran. He was 69 at the time of their marriage. Mr. Mobsby died in 1926. Lizzy White Mosby married second, in 1926, to Mr. William Oscar Partee. Mr. Partee died in 1933, leave Lizzy White Mosby Partee once again a widow. Lizzie, herself, died in 1940 and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery Her obituary is as follows: Final Rites for Mrs. Partee; Dies Saturday Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White Partee, 72, widow of W. O. Partee, died Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at the residence on East College Street following a heart attack. She had been in failing health for some time. She was the daughter of the late Frank White and Joanna Miller White of Murfreesboro and was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ. She is survived by a sister, Miss Frankie White, a niece Mrs. Elliot P. Jones, and the following nephews: Frank White Wharton, Arthur D. Wharton, Harvey Wharton, Joe Wharton, and Walter Wharton. Prayer services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. at the grave by Elder Joe L. Netherland of the East Main Street Church of Christ, and Dr. Walter M. White of Nashville. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Hancock, B. B. Kerr, James Clayton, Lee Lively, C. B. Ragland, and H. H. Harrison, Sr. Woodfin-Moore in charge. Source: DNJ, Jan 7, 1940.
