obituary Glenwood Opinion Tribune 1-24-1938 Funeral Services for G W Pickerall Funeral services for G W Pickeral were held Wednesday afternoon, January 19th from the Hastings Methodist church with Rev James Walls officiating. Mr Pickerall was a long time resident of Hastings. George W Pickerall was born at Thortown( should probably be Thorntown) , Ind, July 16, 1862, and departed from this life at the home of his daughter in Hastings, Jan 17, 1938 at the age of 85 years, six months, and one day. Three children are left to mourn his parting, Adeline Querry of Red Oak; Nello Pickerall of Lincoln, Neb, and Orpha Bowen with whom he made his home; one sister Mrs Mattie Smith of Omaha; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Please note this is a different birthdate than from previous records ( July 16, 1852 or 1853). Also the name Pickerall is a different spelling. It has been spelled Pickerell, Pickerill, Pickeral, and Pickerall.
