Whitney Messenger Thursday, August 16, 1979 Jewel Schoonover Mrs. Jewel Schoonover, age 74, of Whitney, a native of Hill County, died Tuesday, July 31, 1979 in the Whitney Hospital. Funeral service was held Thursday, August 2, at 2:30 p.m. at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Kyle Glenn Officiating. Burial was in Whitney Cemetery. Mrs. Schoonover was born November 14, 1904, the daughter of Lem and Lena Odom. She was reared in the Whitney area. She lived in Bosque County 30 years before returning to Whitney in 1972. She married Arthur Schoonover in 1937. Mrs. Schoonover was a member of Coon Creek Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother on November 11, 1978. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Schoonover; 3 sisters, Mrs. Eunice Baker and Mrs. Mary Moore, both of Whitney, and Mrs. Imogene Henderson of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
