Corpl.Harrison Grissom,was a Union Soldier,in Co.K. 13 Regiment, entered abt. 1861 mustard out at Louisville,Ky.in 1864 after getting leg shot off by cannon ball, in Battle of The Clouds, Missionary Ridge, Tennessee. He was A patient at Brown, U.S.A. General Hospital Louisville,Ky.He receive A pension of 14.00 monthly. He was A son of the late,Willis And Susannah(Harrison)Grissom,he was also preceded in death by two children Fannie B. and William Chestrene Grissom,known as Will and later on as Jack. Harrison great-grandfather,was an Indian,William(Tahia-Che)Grissom. His great grandmother was Susan(Chaw-er-Ker) (Tenninson) Grissom, an Indian also. He is survived by his wife Rachel Jane (Skaggs) Grissom,and thee sons, George (Alice)Grissom, Melvin(Florence) Emery and wife, Elmer Grissom. He is survived by five daughters,Susan Jane(Martin Thompson)Walbert,Mariene (twin to William Chastene)and husband,Robert Smith,and Omie Grace, Ellen(David)Akin, and Tishie (John David)Walbert. He was burried on family farm, on Henry Watson Rd.off Hwy. 1243, Knob Lick,Ky.In A fence row in Cedar trees.
