Obit: Charles A. Friedel Charles A. Friedel, 46, a Galveston resident for 20 years, died in St. Mary's Infirmary at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday. He was a crane operator for the Galveston Wharves and was born Nov. 4 (?), 1911, in Yoakum, Texas. Mr. Friedel is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Annette Marie of Galveston; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Jilek of Houston, Mrs. Lillie Herchek and Mrs. Emma Cooper of Yoakum; and three brothers, Ernest of Runge, Texas; Louis of Cuero and Emil of Yoakum. Funeral services will be held at Malloy & Son funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. J. W. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. The Galveston News, Thursday, April 17, 1958
