Obit - Louis Raymond Friedel CUERO – Louis R. Friedel, 74, of Cuero died in a Cuero hospital Thursday. A prayer service will be held at Oak Memorial Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until noon Saturday when it will be taken to St. Mark's Lutheran Church to lie in state from 1 until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. H. A. Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery. Mr. Friedel was born in Yoakum Aug. 9, 1905, son of Anton and Sophie Kaliba Friedel. He was a member of the Cuero Masonic Lodge and a retired member of the Cuero volunteer fire department. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Almeta Friedel; two sons, James L. Friedel of Victoria and the Rev. Harvey L. Friedel of Cuero; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Herchek [as printed] of Victoria and Mrs. Lorene Jilek of Pasadena; and six grandchildren.
