Carol Condie Kreth Manwaring, 84, of Springville passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2004 of causes incident to age. She was born September 28, 1919 in Springville to Kenneth P. Condie and Zina Child Condie. Carol married William R. Kreth, they later divorced. She married Wilford M. Manwaring. Carol is survived by two sons: Thomas K. Kreth and John W. Manwaring both of Springville. Funeral was held Monday August 30, 2004, with interment in the Historic City Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary. ∼ From Deseret News archives: Obituary: Carol Condie Kreth Manwaring Published: Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 12:00 a.m. MDT 1919 ~ 2004 Carol Condie Kreth Manwaring, 84 of Springville, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 in Orem, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born September 28, 1919 in Springville, Utah to Kenneth P. and Zina Child Condie. She grew up in Springville attending public schools. She attended Brigham Young University graduating in 1939 with a degree in education. She taught school in several communities throughout Utah and Nevada. Her love for home economics lead the way for her to return to Nebo School District teaching sewing and cooking at Spanish Fork Jr. High and finishing her teaching career at Springville High School. Carol married William R. Kreth and was later divorced. She later married Wilford M. Manwaring in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1958. Carol was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She was a member of the We Readers, Lions Women's Auxiliary and playing cello with several groups in Springville. She was active until the year proceeding her death in the "Make it with Wool" contest, assisting many students in their creations. She enjoyed making cookies and chocolates and taking them to the neighbors. Carol is survived by two sons and one daughter: Thomas K. (Diane) Kreth and John W. (Merrilee) Manwaring both of Springville; Carol Ann (Richard) Peterson of Richfield; sisters: Aileen (Robert) Conrad of Eskdale; Mary Jane (Ben) Olsen of Springville; and sister-in-law Lorna Condie of Springville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilford; sisters Lenore Whitehead and Eulalia Livingston; brothers Malcom K. Condie and John G. Condie; grandson's Troy and Branyan Kreth; and great-grandson Austin T. Kreth. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 860 East 200 North in Springville. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville and Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville City Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to those that cared for Carol in her final time on this earthly existence: Reid's Park Place Assisted Living, the IMC and 4th floor staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center; Doctors Clark Bishop, John Taylor, Mark Penrod and Anna Kirby FNP; and the staff at Orchard Park Care Center which lovingly cared for mother in her final days.
