Bio

Michael T. Fields age 36 marries Nancy Jane Shields age 39 in 1869 in Kentucky Township, Grayson County, TX. Two Fields brothers married two Shields sisters, as Michael's brother Daniel Linrie Fields had married Nancy's sister Julia Ann Shields two years before. Michael and wife Nancy are found on the 1870 Grayson County TX census and again on the 1880 Collin County TX census. No children. Nancy dies first, followed about four years later by Michael. His probate proceedings recite that he died intestate, leaving no wife or children. His estate consists of a few miscellaneous debts and one 33 acre tract of land value $900. At the request of Michael's siblings, John Church applies and is appointed administrator of the estate.
