Herald Coaster, January 24, 1965: John W. Hundle, Sr., retired farmer of the Wallis community, passed away in the Sealy Hospital at 7:15 a.m. Friday, January 15, attaining the age of 92 years, 2 months, and 22 days, following six months illness. Funeral services were held at Knesek and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Wallis at 9:15 a.m., with services continued at Guardian Angel Church, Msgr. A.W. Nesvadba and Rev. Alex Lazek officiating. Interment was in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Rosary recital was held Sunday evening at 7 p.m. Pallbearers were Daniel E. and Franklin R. Hundl, Leo Sulak, Chas. Dusek, Anton Lenart Jr., and Joe Kostka. Born in Praha on October 22, 1872, he was reared and attended school there. In the year 1911, he married Mary Ann Jansky; she passed away June 22, 1958. He was a member of the Guardian Angel Church of Wallis and the Rosary Society. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Adolf Beran of East Bernard; eight sons, Ed of Wharton, John and Chas. of Clute, Henry of Rosenberg, Edwin and Joe of Houston, Raymond of Orchard, and Emil of Frydek; forty-four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
