Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," July 24, 1968: William Riley Kuhn, 88, of 150 S. Fellows Ave., died today at 4 a.m. at Ottumwa Hospital. He was the son of Silas and Nancy Orman Kuhn, born Oct. 22, 1879, in Ottumwa. A lifelong Ottumwa resident, he worked as a conductor for the C.B. & Q. Railroad from 1903 until his retirement in 1946. He was a member of East End Presbyterian Church, Order of Railway Conductors and Brakemen, Burlington Veterans, Masonic Lodge No. 16, a 50-year member of the Grand Lodge of Iowa Masons, the Royal Arch Masons, the Malta Commandery No. 31, and the Low Twelve. His marriage to Nora Jennings took place Jan. 18, 1949, in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Bloom of Ottumwa and Mrs. Eva Mackey of Des Moines, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Anna B. Gartner in 1921, and Anna M. Abbey in 1948, one son, two sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Mauldin of East End Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. Masonic services will be Thursday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home.
