Pvt. Leland L. Lair, of Anna, is the son of Mrs. J. B. Lair. He was born and educated in that place, with a year at Baylor University at Waco. Enlisted in Co. B, 22nd Engineers. Trained at Camp Travis one month, going to Camp Sheridan, Montgomery, Alabama, for further training, before going to France. As his services called for preliminary work in advance of action, he was not engaged in combat, but was on the front line.
