Veteran of World War II. American Fork Citizen, American Fork, Utah, 05 Dec 2001 Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Lloyd J. Walker, was called back to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 23, 1925 in Burley, Idaho to his proud parents, Arnold Arthell and Luella Swenson Walker. He married Verla Tomlinson on June 15, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lloyd loved and excelled in all sports from grade school to high school. He broke records and held records in pole vaulting, broad and high jump, and other track events. He played basketball and football, with football being his favorite. Lloyd built the house that he and Verla still live in when he was 19 years old. He loved carpentry and taught himself to become a "jack of all trades." Lloyd was a very hard worker. He worked hard on farms, joined the Merchant Marines and worked at Geneva Steel for 39 years. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including bishop. He loved to fish, camp, and hunt with his family. Lloyd enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his sweetheart Verla. One of the most memorable trips was Highway 101.
