FamilySearch ID: K8D9-NCY James Jackson Young died at his homestead in Denton County, Texas on 3 Jan. 1861. He was the son of Rev James L and Margaret Jones Young. He was born in Illinois on 20 Feb 1829. He lived several years in Texas. He joined the M.E. Church, South in his 21st year and lived a consistent member until death. Some time after he joined the Church, he married Miss Ellen Wilson, who, with two children, is left to mourn. He with two other children had gone before, sings in the paradise of God. Brother Young was a member of the Masonic fraternity, and was buried by the Order. The writer was well acquainted with Brother Young. His house was a regular preaching place on the Denton Circuit, and the itinerant's home. He was a Christian gentleman, a good citizen, a kind husband and father, and was loved by all his neighbors.
