Julie Ann Grim, 71, of Ord died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord. Julie was born Sept. 26, 1939, at Dawson, Iowa, to Leon and Mamie (Higgins) Hingeley. Survivors are: husband, Jim of Ord; daughters and son-in-law, Jolene "Jo" and Doug Abbott of Ord, Janiece "Jan" Bloom and her friend, Gregg Wetzel of Ord; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Pat and Hingeley of Diagonal, Iowa; and sister and brother-in-law, Verna and Frank Kozal of Jefferson, Iowa. Julie was raised in the Dawson and Greenfield, Iowa areas where she also received her education. Julie moved to Colorado and was united in marriage to James "Jim" Grim on July 2, 1957, at Golden, Colo. The couple spent seven years in Colorado before moving to Greenfield, Iowa. They returned to Colorado for a short time and then moved to Sargent. In 1965, they settled in Ord. Julie worked at Jack and Jill Grocery Store and the Donut Shop. In the early 1990's she opened Granny's Corner Daycare. Julie operated the daycare until her passing. Julie was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Lamp Lighters Extension Club and Couples Card Club. She enjoyed shopping, and collecting sunflowers and angels. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Julie was preceded in death by her parents; twin grandsons, Kyle and Curtis Bloom and brothers, Norvin, Leo and Tom Hingeley.
