Bio

The name of this site is Covington Cemetery. . . It's been suggested that this woman died 1892 in Georgia. I haven't been able to find any source for this. No dates or name of husband in source (survey listing on LDS microfilm, as transcribed by June Hanna). Mary Ann KING married 20 JUN 1850 in Muscogee County, Georgia, to William M. CONVINGTON. Nancy Kate Rogers' "A History of Chattahoochee County, Georgia," (1933), p. 352, shows: Mary (7) married William COVINGTON, who died from wounds received during the American Civil War. 5 children, viz.: Teresa, James, Mittie, William "Billy," and Sallie. Teresa married Charles ROGERS; one son, Olin ROGERS. Mittie married M[r]. BOYD, one son: Covington BOYD. Billy married Fatie CALHOUN, four daughters: Ethel (Mrs. Robert McBRYDE), Elba, Eva, and Mae COVINGTON. Sallie married Sterling JENKINS, three sons: Will Ed., Drane, and Sterling. P. 350-51 reports that Mary KING (born 26 SEP 1829) married William COVINGTON, and died at Box Springs, Georgia; she was child 7 of 11 of Henry KING (29 JAN 1796 -- 30 JUN 1882) and Elizabeth "Betsey" (LEE) KING (08 JUL 1795 -- 29 OCT 1866). _____ From Contributor #48388243: 1870 census of Halloca District (Militia District No. 787) Chattahoochee Co., Geo., dwelling and household No. 33 ~~~ Henry King (74 N.C.) male, no occupation," holding real estate valued at $16,000 and personal estate valued at $3,000; G.
