Family trees report that this man was born in Pulaski, Candler County, Georgia. Candler County was not formed until 1914. His newspaper obituary reports he was born in Louisville, Georgia, which is in Jefferson County. As far as I can tell, his application for a pension on his CSA service doesn't report his place of birth, it only states he had lived in Georgia for about 80 years (as of 1919). I suspect the place in the family trees was intended to be Pulaski County, Georgia. I don't know what his actual birthplace is. _____ The following is from Contributor#46985035 (C Bozeman): G. Wood King, who says he has lived in Georgia for 80 years, has a CSA pension application on line. He says he enlisted in Cusseta, Ga in March 1862 and served with Company D of the 46th GA infantry. He was wounded at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia in the spring of 1864, and sent to the hospital in Macon, GA. After being released, he tried to rejoin his unit in fighting but was sent home as unfit for service. He was on home furlough when the war ended.
