Albert Harvey Donnell Obituary Albert Harvey Donnell, son of James M and Nancy Donnell was born at Springfield, Missouri, May 23, 1864 and died Wednesday, March 20, 1929, at the family residence, 164 Webster Street, Portland, Oregon, at the age of 64 years 9 months and 25 days. At the age of two years he moved with his parents from Missouri to Texas, where he grew to manhood. There he met and married Nannie C Reynolds on December 5, 1889. to this union were born three sons and four daughters, Harvy J, Frank W, Ethele C, all of Portland, Oregon, and Lucille of Eugene, Oregon, Sam of Battleground, Washington, Mrs John H Burrows of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs Leo L Mitchell of Yale, Wash. All of whom with his devoted wife, fifteen grandchildren, friends are left to await the meeting in that Great Spirit Land where there is no sorrow. From Texas he moved his little family to Oklahoma in 1893. There he settled on a homestead near the town of Thomas, where he resided for more than twenty years. After that he came west and settled in Montana where he lived for six years. From there he came to Portland, Oregon, where he lived until our All Wise Creator seen fit to remove him from amongst(sic)us, with the exception of a few months which he enjoyed on the ranch with his daughter at Yale, Washington. He was a charter member of the Masonic lodge at Thomas, Oklahoma, and a faithful member of the Bible Class at the Yale Sunday School. The First Psalm was his favorite scripture. He being ill only a few hours before the end came, caused the announcement of his death to be a pang to the entire community and saddened the hearts of all who know him. He exemplified his religion in the upright and honorable life in which he lived and the triumphant death he died. Our loss is his eternal gain. The funeral services were held at Wilson Chamber Chapel, Friday March 22, at 2:30 PM, and was conducted by Rev RW Weibel of Vancouver, Washington. Words of comfort were spoken from the text, The Lord is My Shepherd: I Shall not Want. The Kenton Masonic Lodge of Portland had charge at the cemetery with their ceremony rendered in a most sufficient manner after which they tenderly laid him to rest at the Rose Cemetery beneath a mound of beautiful flowers. {{Dan_McGill originally submitted this to Dan McGill's Family Tree at ancestry.com on 12 Aug 2011 in the form of a PDF file.
