Father: Lemuel O. Stevenson Mother: Nellie Shockey Wife: Myrtle Irene Houchin Burl E. Stevenson, 81, died about 10:30 .m. Saturday at his residence at 410 N. 13th St., Lawrenceville. Born January 26, 1905, in Lawrence County, he was a son of Lemuel and Nellie Shockey Stevenson. In 1921, he was married to Mrtle Houchins, who survives him. Also surviving are four sons, Leroy Stevenson, San Jacinto, Calif., Burl Stevenson Jr., Conneaut, Ohio; Robert Stevenson, Wildomar, Calif., and Douglas Stevenson, Indianapolis, Ind; two daughters, Betty Gallagher, Grand Prairie, Texas and Jean Monjar, Bridgeport ; a brother, Irvan Angle, North Pekin; two sisters, Magdaline Fleckenstein, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, and Erma Jean Hale, Peoria; 16 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother, a sister and two grandchildren. Mr. Stevenson was a retired foreman for Texaco Refinery in Lawrenceville. Graveside rites for Burl E. Stevenson will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lawrenceville Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Richardson officiating.
