Douglas Lee Stevenson, 84, of Indianapolis, died Thursday November 17, 2022. Douglas was born on November 13, 1938, in Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late Burl and Myrtle (Houchin) Stevenson, where he was raised with his six siblings, Betty Gallagher, Irma Jean Morjar, Harold Stevenson, Leroy Stevenson, Eugene Stevenson and Robert Stevenson. On February 4, 1961, Douglas was united in marriage to JoAnne Pero in Shawneetown, Illinois. Douglas served in the U.S. Navy. Douglas worked for 32 years with Navistar in their finance department. After retiring he became a full-time nanny for his grandsons. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandsons. Douglas is survived by his children, Michael (Amy) Stevenson, April (Scott) Haley; grandsons, Brandon Stevenson, Maxwell Stevenson, Jacob Haley, Nathan Stevenson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Stevenson Visitation for Douglas will be Friday,, November 25, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O'Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory - 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Garden, Greenwood.
