Atkinson Rites Held Saturday Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Evalene Atkinson, 69, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe S. Allen, Pastor, officiating. Burial was in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Newerry's. Pallbearers were Eddie Leary, Gordon Gravley, Homer Compton, Ray Wyatt, Gene Keys and Doy Skinner. Mrs. Atkinson was pronounced dead on arrival at Childress Geneeral Hospital at 11:05 p.m. Thursday after suffering a heart attack at her home, 711 Ave. B. Northwest. Born in Stephenville, Tex., March 19, 1904, she and Buck Atkinson were married Dec. 1, 1923, in Childress. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Billy Joe and Gary, both of Childress; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Turner of Childress and Mrs. Jerry Jeffries of 4803 Bonham, Amarillo; her mother Mrs. Etta Williams of Childress; three brothers, Willard, Bryan and A.T. (Chick) Williams and one sister, Mrs. Desmond Bridges, all of Childress; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
