Carroll Lawrence Atkinson CHILDRESS (Spc.) - Carroll Lawrence "Buck" Atkinson, 72, died yesterday. Services were to be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe S. Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Newberry Funeral Home. Mr. Atkinson was born in Pittsburg and moved to Childress in 1920 from there. He had worked in a grocery store, had been a cattle buyer and an insurance respresentative. At the time of his death, he was working at Gibsons in the sporting goods department. Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe and Gary, both of Childress; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Turner of Childress and Mrs. Jerry Jeffries of Amarillo; three brothers, Jake of Quanah, Woodrow of Iowa Park and Raymond of Kirkland; one sister, Mrs. Jewel Foster of Kingsville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
