Bio

Lucille M. Placzek, 86, of Fremont died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center. She was born Sept. 8, 1924, in rural Duncan to John and Mary (Paprocki) Tworek. She grew up in the Columbus area. She was a graduate of St. Bonaventure Catholic School at Columbus. She moved to Fremont in January 1947. She was employed by the former Northern Natural Gas Co. in Fremont as secretary and office manager, retiring in 1979. She married Francis A. "Frank" Placzek on March 2, 1946, in Columbus. He died Feb. 23, 1992. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of TOPS for 30 years. She volunteered at the gift shop at Fremont Area Medical Center and in the lunchroom at Archbishop Bergan Junior-Senior High School. She bowled for many years and belonged to several card clubs. She also was a volunteer poll worker during elections for over 20 years. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Larry Consbruck of Juniata and Jeanne and Bill Keenan of Purcellville, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Carmen Placzek of Lincoln; brother, Flavian "Fla" Tworek of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa and Jack Schwank and Angie Slovinski, all of Columbus; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Andy, Jennifer, Alex, Karen, Francie, Kathleen, Theresa, John, Veronica, Peter, David, Thomas and Julia. and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont with the Rev. Ron Battiato officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the American Diabetes Association.
